The Mandell JCC rolled out the red carpet March 22-30, 2008 for the 12th Annual Hartford Jewish Film Festival, with fourteen acclaimed Jewish films from six countries in five venues over eight days! The Mandell JCC was proud to present the 2008 festival with Trinity College and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.
Connecticut's most popular Jewish cultural arts event began Saturday night March 22 at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art and the state's premiere of "Nina's Home", followed by a gala opening night reception.
With five Israeli films on the schedule and a special musical tribute to Israel by Cantor Brian Shamash, this year's festival also celebrated Israel's 60th birthday.

Fascinating documentaries included Cemetery Club, Yiddish Soul, Song of Life, Making Trouble, Praying With Lior and I Have Never Forgotten You: The Life of Simon Wiesenthal. Comedy, drama, history, intrigue and romance...this year's Hartford Jewish Film Festival had it all.
