The Early Childhood Center
Our Curriculum - Preschool Program The JCC Early Childhood Centers' curriculum combines age appropriate activities that encourage physical, cognitive and social development and Judaic experiences. Our activities and thematic choices often come from the children's imagination and interests. For example, a discussion of Rosh Hashanah and dipping apples in honey might lead to learning about bees and how honey is made. Our celebration of Passover might ignite children's curiosity about yeast and how it makes bread rise. We invite the children to share what they know, what they would like to know and eventually what they have learned.
The children's work displayed around the rooms and lining the hallways documents their progress and is a source of great pride. In addition to artwork, our walls include digital pictures of the children in action with captions in their own words describing their activities.
At the Mandell Jewish Community Center Early Childhood Centers we take the responsibility for shaping young lives very seriously. It is with this in mind that we hire dedicated professionals who share our philosophy and understand the significance of their role. It is our goal to provide staff with ongoing professional development, a supportive administrative team and time for planning and reflection with their peers.
We welcome you to come visit our classrooms and see first hand the nurturing and stimulating environment in which the children grow.
