Central to the Mandell JCC's mission is service to our community. We invite you to help give back to our community through various programs and opportunities at the Mandell JCC.
Permanent Food Drive
The Mandell JCC plays a leadership role in easing hunger in our community by providing a permanent and proactive community food collection center for kosher and non-kosher donations to be distributed to the food pantries of FoodShare and Jewish Family Services.
Jewish Employment Transitions Services: JETS
JETS Jewish Employment Transition Services is an employment outreach and support program that provides services to those individuals in the Greater Hartford area who are unemployed as a result of the current economy. While this program is sponsored by the Jewish community, it is open for anyone, regardless of faith, who has a need and/or skills they wish to volunteer. JETS was conceived and is managed by a group of volunteers, clergy and the staff of Jewish Family Services. Emphasis is on facilitation of job search skills and networking opportunities, preserving sound emotional and financial health, and providing awareness of community resources. Workshops are held at Beth El Temple.
