A Connecting Threads Quilt Show: The Immigrant
The Immigrants’ Journey Through The Eyes of Quilters
June 30 – August 30, 2019
With needles, threads and bits of fabric, twenty quilters, created quilts telling the varied, moving stories of immigrants. Curated by Diane Kruger Cohen and juried on technique and relation to the theme by Nancy Maxwell and Tamar Karev, the Chase Family Gallery is honored to host this collection. The stories they tell are as varied as the countries they have traveled from. With over 20 quilters representing 9 US states and works from Sweden, Israel and Italy, the immigrant journey is seen through many lenses.

Those of us who live in the Greater Hartford area are so fortunate to have access to some of the best health care in the world.
This month, as we spotlight our community partnership with Trinity Health of New England - Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, MetroHartford Alliance's weekly radio show, 'The Pulse of the Region,' will include Dr. John Rodis, President, and Dr. Jeffrey Brown, Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine, who will talk about a new partnership with the Hartford Athletic and how the health sector plays a vital role in our economic development.
The Mandell JCC is excited and honored to be teaming up with the Hartford Athletic, Hartford's new professional soccer team, as community partners.
As we extend a warm welcome to the team, which will be using our fitness center, we look forward to working together to provide our members and campers with some incredible & unique experiences.
