Did you know that medical professionals are now recommending 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise every week? Not to mention participating in muscular-strength training 2 days a week? If you need a little motivation or inspiration, the Group Exercise Department at the Mandell JCC will help get you on your way.
Many of our members love to exercise in groups because it's fun, challenging, motivating, and it keeps you accountable for attaining your fitness goals. Our professional team of certified instructors are there to guide you through the exercises, while explaining the benefits and working you out beyond your perceived limits.
The Mandell JCC offers Group Exercise in all styles to fit your busy schedule and fitness goals. Whether your interests are increasing your cardiovascular endurance, weight-loss, strength training, flexibility, or mind and body connections, we have a class guaranteed to keep you motivated, inspired, and coming back for more.
With multiple group exercise studios, the JCC is able to offer 90+ weekly classes for all fitness levels, from high energy Body Pump® , Body Combat® , CX Worx® , Spinning™, and Zumba to the more relaxing mind/body options of Yoga or Mat Pilates™ to our classes for active adults, such as chair Yoga and Tai Chi. We also offer a full complement of water group exercise classes, such as Deep H2O Run, Yoqua and Interval Splash.
During the year, we host International Yoga Day, Master Aqua Splash and the Poker Bike Ride. Plus – there are plenty of special events for charity, such as Healthy Heart Spin for the American Heart Association and our Dance-a-thon to support families fighting leukemia.
