J Weekly July 26-August 1

"Good players inspire themselves. Great players inspire others."
This sweet young man inspires us!
Ethan was in our basketball league this past winter. However, because the season ended unexpectedly due to the pandemic, Coach Thai did not have a chance to give out any 'end of the season' awards. Coach Thai decided that National Sports Day, which took place this past Thursday, would be an appropriate time to recognize one special young basketball player.
The JCC ‘Sportsmanship Award’ is one of the biggest awards we give out each year – voted on by all the coaches in the league.
Ethan was chosen out of more than 80+ players in his division.
Ethan is also spending most of his summer with us in our Sports Jams camps.
Sportsmanship is a big characteristic that we focus on at camp. We want kids to be active, healthy and compete, but at the same time, we want them to learn the importance of being a good teammate, winning with respect and losing with dignity. Ethan displayed ALL of those qualities during our basketball league and at camp.
Ethan is also kind, respectful and an incredibly hard worker.
Congratulations to Ethan!
