A summer place

There are two words you'll never hear uttered at the Mandell JCC between May and September: "I'm bored." There simply is no better place to be a child (or for that matter, a grown-up) in the summertime. In addition to all the wonderful things we offer year round, when school's out, we offer day camps, specialty sports clinics, theater programs, and counselor-in-training courses. We open our Swim and Tennis Club to the whole family. And our professional staff is so good at making our summer programs meaningful, memorable, and FUN, kids don't even realize they're learning at the same time.

For 3-, 4-, and 5-year olds, there's Campareenah, where they'll swim, enjoy music and movement, and play sports in our air-conditioned Early Childhood Centers under the watchful eyes of our nurturing staff. Kids in grades K-through-10, can swim, boat, water ski, fish, play tennis, hike and more at Camp Shalom day camp, located on 100 gorgeous acres on the Farmington River in Windsor. Budding thespians can hit the boards at Theater Camp, with daily rehearsals culminating with two very special performances in July. And first- through eighth-grade sports lovers can sign up for All-Star Sports Jams, where trained coaches and counselors help them improve their tennis and basketball skills in week-long clinics.
