Max Beede Max Beede is the Director of Emerging Leadership at the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. Max is also a local advisor to the West Hartford USY and has served in leadership roles as a program manager and educator in Jewish non-profits in both New York and Connecticut. He received his B.A. in Theater at Binghamton University and Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford graduate.
Elana MacGilpin Elana MacGilpin is the Chief Development Officer at Mandell JCC in West Hartford, and is presently pursuing studies at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University Indianapolis, where she will be completing her certification in Fund Raising Management. Elana has served as an officer and director in roles at the Jewish Community Foundation, Mandell JCC, and National MS Society. She received her MSW at University of Michigan, and her B.A. at Union College.
Carly Norman Carly Norman is the Development Officer at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, where she recently became a nationally certified philanthropy counselor with 21/64, a nonprofit training organization focusing on next generation philanthropy. Carly has served in programming and educational roles in both the Jewish and secular spaces in Greater Hartford. She received her M.Ed. from University of Hartford, and her B.A. from University of Connecticut.
Joshua Gottfried Joshua Gottfried is the Co-Founder and Principal of Gottfried & Somberg Wealth Management, LLC. As a volunteer, Josh serves as a trustee at the Jewish Community Foundation, and he is chair of JCF’s Investment Committee. He is a member of Beth El Temple, where he serves as Treasurer of the Beth El Endowment. He is also commissioner of the city of Hartford's Pension Commission. Josh earned an M.B.A. from Yale School of Management and a B.A. from Muhlenberg College and attended The Loomis Chaffee School.
Kathryn Gonnerman Kathryn is the President & CEO at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford and oversees a nine-member staff and is responsible for growing the Foundation’s assets under management, which are approximately $190 million. Kathryn first worked at the Foundation from 2013 – 2024 in various leadership positions. She began as the Marketing Director and was promoted to Executive Director of the Foundation’s Center for Innovative Philanthropy. In 2018, Kathryn served with distinction as Interim CEO of the Foundation and was named Vice President of Philanthropy in 2019 – 2024. Kathryn holds a B.A and M.A. from Yale University in East Asian Studies.
