Group Fitness


The Mandell JCC offers a wide variety of Group Fitness classes to suit your needs and style. With multiple group fitness offerings, we’re able to offer 60+ weekly in person and/or Zoom classes for all fitness levels. We also offer Les Mills on-demand class in studio 1. Live and on-demand LesMills classes include: Body Pump™, Body Combat™, Les Mills Core™Sh’bam™, GRIT™, RPM™ and Bodybalance™. We also offer, Zumba, Yoga, Mat Pilates and much more! We offer classes in person as well as live streamed via zoom in the comfort of your own home. In our aquatics center, we also offer water group fitness classes several days a week.

Strength

Butts & Gutts: This class is a combination of squat and lunge variations along with some old school mat exercises designed to target and tone those problem areas like the tummy, hips, butt, inner thighs and outer thighs. All levels are welcome and all the exercises can be modified. All you’ll need is a mat and a desire to feel the burn!

BodyPump: A barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BodyPump gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the workout feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

GRIT Strength™ (on-demand): A 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. Les Mills GRIT Strength takes cutting-edge HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be down on the floor with you, motivating you to go harder to get fit, fast.

 

 

Strength and Cardio Mix

Bootcamp™: Back to basics training! Learn to move strong, determined and effective. This class will fatigue your muscles and teach you how to get the BEST out of You!! Bodyweight only class, just bring your mat!

GRIT Athletic™ (on-demand): A 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sports conditioning workout, designed to make you perform like an athlete. This workout often uses a step, bodyweight exercises and multi-dimensional sports conditioning training to increase your overall athletic performance: strength, agility, speed and power.

HIITDesigned to take you through a series of High Intensity cardio drills, strength training, & core focused exercises with relatively brief rest periods. This workout will include the usage of tubing, weights, and your own body weight to ensure fast dramatic tness results.

InsanityYour Insanity instructor will push you past your limits through plyometric drills with non-stop intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training moves.

P90XP90X is a group-focused, total-body strength and cardio class that incorporates proven principles from functional strength coaching. We will push you through personal plateaus, rock out to hardcore music together, and get in the best shape of our lives!

Strength: Hit every muscle in your body with this circuit based strength workout. Your muscles will fatigue, your heart rate will rise and you will feel incredible!

Deep H2O RunAn advanced class at the deeper end of the main pool. Feet are off the pool bottom and the body is suspended with the aid of an aqua jogger.

Aqua TabataAn advanced class in the water and includes an intense form of interval training alternating periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods.

Active Adults

The JCC offers many classes that are geared towards active seniors, including Silver Strength, Gentle Yoga, Tai Chi and more. These classes are set at a less strenuous pace and offer options to progressively challenge yourself.

 

    

Cardio

BodyCombatThe Les Mills high-energy, martial arts inspired, non-contact workout. Punch, kick, and strike your way to fitness.

Cardio Splash: An energetic water workout with lots of jumping, strengthening, stretching and fun.

GRIT Cardio™ (on-demand): A 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that improves cardiovascular fitness, increases speed and maximizes calorie burn. This workout uses a variety of body weight exercises and provides the challenge and intensity you need to get results fast. Les Mills GRIT Cardio takes HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be down on the floor with you, motivating you to go harder to get fit, fast.

Hit Em Up!: A range of exercises to offer you a full body workout that helps you achieve the results you're after! It builds cardiovascular fitness while improving muscular strength and endurance.

J Cycle: Take cardio to the next level with a group cycle class at the J. With different rides to choose from, there is something for everybody. This aerobic workout allows you to burn lots of calories as you ascend steep hills and sprint on flat terrain with high-energy music to motivate you along the way. Join us for a ride that will tone your legs, condition your core and test your endurance.

Pound: Channel your inner rockstar with this full body cardio-jam session inspired by the infectious, energizing, and sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums.

RPM (on-demand)RPM is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun, low impact and you can burn up to 675 calories a session. With great music pumping and the group spinning as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding.

Zumba: Using a fusion of Latin and International music, this class will get you dancing with dynamic, exciting, and high-energy steps and rhythms, creating a fun cardio based workout.

 


 

Core

Les Mills Core™: Exercising muscles around the core of your body, Les Mills Core provides the vital ingredient for a stronger, leaner core.

Core Fusion: Train your core with stability, strength and dynamic movement making you strong and SWEATY from the inside out!

 


 

Mind & Body

Barre: Tone, trim and transform your body with a fusion of ballet, Pilates and resistance training. This class is suitable for all tness levels, with many modi cations and challenges.

BodyBalance: Ideal for anyone and everyone, BodyBalance is a new generation yoga class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. You can expect to bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves, elements of Tai Chi and Pilates while an inspiring soundtrack plays in the background.

Gentle Yoga: A beginning yoga class to help with releasing, calming, and restorative postures.

Mat Pilates: An exciting class that incorporates a Pilates-based workout that will simultaneously stretch, strengthen, tone and align your body uniformly.

Power Yoga: A vigorous, dynamic class with a stimulating ow. Classes will build strength, exibility, and endurance. Familiarity with yoga is recommended, classes are easily modi ed for any experience level. Be willing to meet your edge as you integrate movement and breath in a warm room; you will leave feeling refreshed and energized.

Tai Chi - Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese form of exercise that uses graceful movement and breathing techniques to improve posture, coordination, circulation, and restore a sense of well-being. Everyday professionals to runners, athletes and all levels of fitness are welcome to explore the practice of Tai Chi.

Yoga: Relax and quiet your mind, body and spirit with ancient yoga postures and controlled breathing techniques while you improve your flexibility and balance.

Yoga Flow: This 60-min Yoga class will focus on flexibility and strength while linking movement with breath through a sequence of asanas. The class will begin and end with a brief meditation to allow students to feel more connected both mentally and physically and is suitable for all levels.
