The Goldberg Family

The JCC and PJ Library have both given our family a sense of community, friendship and growth. We became members of the JCC when our older son Max was an infant and starting swim lessons. As new parents, this was one of our first activities with him and allowed us to have a great learning environment for all of us, in addition to participating with him in building life-long skills in the water. We then began attending Shabbat in the Family Room every Friday morning, along with participating in many events all year round with both of our boys. Even during the height of the pandemic, we were able to continue to participate in our weekly Shabbat program from home over Zoom, and maintaining the unforeseen virtual connection for all of us was meaningful beyond words. The feeling of community and family every Friday morning is something we truly look forward to each week. It is a wonderful space for families of all ages and stages to be. We have made so many friendships with other families and watching the kids grow and learn together during Shabbat, toddler activities, summer camp and more has been wonderful. The PJ Library program continues to be a highlight for our boys. They both love receiving a book each month and learning more about upcoming holidays and celebrations as well as attending events at the JCC and our community. Both the JCC and PJ Library have given us the opportunity to teach our boys about performing Mitzvot with the many different opportunities from donating food, toiletries, school supplies, socks and gloves, pajamas and more.
