Youth & Teen Theater
Get ready to raise the curtain and take center stage as the spotlight is on the Mandell JCC's Theater Programs. Each year, these programs features an age-appropriate musical stage production of a popular show.
With professional direction and live musical accompaniment, young thespians audition, rehearse, and present several performances in front of friends and family in the Mandell JCC's 400-seat Herbert & Evelyn Gilman Theater.

Story to Stage: Elephant and Piggie Adventures
Grades K-2
Instructor: Meg Jabaily
Introduce your little thespian to the pachyderm-packed, pig-tastic world of Mo Willems with Story to Stage: Elephant and Piggie! This enchanting class invites students into the hilarious and heartwarming adventures of Elephant Gerald and Piggie, two best friends who always find a "hog-wild" way to turn life’s surprises into smiles. Through a mix of theatre games, dynamic storytelling, and hands-on activities, budding actors will learn to embody these beloved characters while building confidence, creativity, listening skills, and “ham-onious” teamwork. Whether it’s Elephant Gerald’s careful planning or Piggie’s "oink-tastic" enthusiasm, students will discover how to channel different perspectives, emotions, and personalities—because "Mo’ Willems, mo’ fun!"

Heroes of the Stage: A Percy Jackson Musical Adventure
Grades 3-7

Spend your winter unlocking the hero within in our action-packed, 12-week musical theatre program inspired by the electrifying world of Percy Jackson and the Olympians! Perfect for students ages 8–12, this epic program combines the magic of theatre, the excitement of Greek mythology, and the unforgettable energy of The Lightning Thief musical. Under the guidance of our expert instructors, students will develop confidence, refine their acting and vocal abilities, and harness their inner demigod to bring the bold and brave characters of Camp Half-Blood to life. Whether solving puzzles worthy of the Oracle, singing a show-stopping tune, or stepping into the shoes of a daring hero (or maybe a tricky Titan), every student will steal the show.
