Social Action
The Mandell JCC is all about community – it’s our middle name! Mandell JCC Cares connects ourmembers to social action opportunities in the community, at home and at the JCC. We will engage inacts of loving kindness (gemilut chasadim) with the goal of repairing the world (tikkun olam). If you know of organizations that could use our help, or if you are interested in joining us, please contact Susan at slentini@mandelljcc.org or Kasiana at kfriedman@mandelljcc.org.
J Cares | Winter 2026
Food for All
Food security is an even bigger problem this year. Any day that you stop by the JCC, you can always drop off nonperishable food items into the grocery cart inside the JCC lobby. This food is donated to Kosher Food Pantry at Jewish Family Services which feeds hundreds of families of all backgrounds throughout our community. There is also need for paper towels and cleaning supplies.
Pajamas and Winter Gear Collection
Dec 1-Dec 18
During the holiday season when children are excited about receiving gifts, this is an opportunity to learn how giving to others is so important. Tzedakah (charitable giving) and doing Mitzvot (good deeds) are two values we strive to instill in our lives. We will be collecting new children’s pajamas hats and mittens to help children in need stay warm during the cold winter.
Share the Warmth
Sun. Dec 28 – Mon. Jan 19
Brighten the day for those in need by keeping them warm and cozy this winter. Give the gift of hand warmers and new hats and mittens of all sizes and colors. Please bring your donations to the Mandell JCC lobby December 28-January 19. Your gifts will be distributed to families in need throughout our community.
