ECC Summer of Wonder: A Reggio Inspired Studio Series

3-5 Year Olds | June 23-August 15 (No camp July 4)

Located at the Beatrice Fox Auerbach Early Childhood Center on the Mandell JCC’s Campus

The ECC’s Summer of Wonder is a Reggio inspired program with a focus on project-based learning, exploration, and community building.

Each of our camp groups is housed in one of our beautiful, spacious, and light-filled preschool classrooms, stocked with a large variety of materials to explore. In addition to our thoughtfully curated indoor spaces, campers will visit our private Nature Path and newly constructed preschool playground. On a daily basis, children have access to water-based activities and opportunities to connect with and investigate the natural world. Camp activities include creating multi-faceted art projects, storytelling, creative movement, music, cooking, and sensory explorations – to name a just few!

We offer morning and full day scheduling options, and summer classes are facilitated by our credentialed early childhood educators, in addition to a core group of high school and college assistants. Children will experience a summer filled with activities that ignite their imaginations, empower them to find their voices, and give them the confidence to express themselves.

3-Year-Old Program: To be eligible for the 3-year-old program, children must turn 3 by Dec. 31, 2025. The 3’s program is part time from 9:00am-12:30pm. Families have the option of registering for 2 mornings, Tuesday/Thursday, or 3 mornings, Monday/Wednesday/Friday.

4-Year-Old Program: To be eligible for the 4 year old program, children must turn 4 by Dec. 31, 2025. In the 4’s, families have the option of registering for 3 or 5 mornings from 9:00am-12:30pm or full time, with flexible drop off and pickup times between 7:30am-5:30pm.

5-Year-Old Program: To be eligible for the 5-year-old program, children must turn 5 by Dec. 31, 2025. Children entering the ECC’s PreK-5’s, or Kindergarten, are eligible for this program. In the 5’s, families have the option of registering for 3 or 5 mornings from 9:00am-12:30pm or full time, with flexible drop off and pickup times between 7:30am-5:30pm.

Session 1: Tinker and Play Studio

Mon. June 23-Thu. July 3

(no camp on Friday, July 4)

Let’s get curious, investigate new things, and express our creativity with all different tinkering materials. We’ll use tools and our imaginations to make our projects come to life!

Session 2: Make and Create Studio

Mon. July 7-Fri. July 18

Calling all budding artists! Together, we will delve into drawing, painting, and sculpture as we inspire one another through open-ended, creative exploration.

Session 3: Sensational Sensory Studio

Mon. July 21-Fri. August 1

Delightful discoveries and wild wonders await your child! Children will engage in hands-on investigations that invite them to squish, pour, and mix.

Session 4: Once Upon a Time Studio

Mon. August 4-Fri. August 15

Using classic fairy tales, stories and fables as inspiration, campers will enter a world of make-believe and magic. There’s no limit to the fun and learning we can have based on books!
